Fifth Street Revival features Rob Coleman - tenor, Chris Quick - lead, Jim Cox - baritone, and Wayne Henegar - bass. Rob is a career banker and serves as Chairman of the Board of a local community bank. Chris holds degrees in law and music and is the pastor at three Methodist churches in Flat Rock and Palestine, IL. Jim is a retired Director of Broadcasting at a local community college and part-time work in the theatre there. Wayne is the retired Dean of Instruction at the same community college and now operates an Internet Technology consulting business.
The group technically got started when Rob was asked to sing a solo at church. He quickly recruited some other singers to help him with that first performance. Soon, we were meeting weekly to learn more and more songs. Instrumental tracks and vocal arrangements from the Gaither Vocal Band series were used to get started. During those first years, the Gaither series provided almost exclusive music for us to learn.
Soon, people started asking us about recording our music. The obvious place to start was with the Gaither organization. The chance assignment of Mr. Woody Wright as our producer for the project led us to lifelong relationships with Woody and his lovely wife Vonnie. Working with Woody is a most interesting experience in the studio. His love of the Lord, knowledge of quartet arrangements, and his sheer joy are contagious and wonderful.
Since that first recording experience in Studio A at Gaither Studios in Alexandria, Indiana, we have returned five more times to produce recordings. Projects #2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 were recorded in Studio C (the studio seen in many Gaither Homecoming recordings).
We pray that you have been, or will be, blessed by something you hear on a Fifth Street Revival recording. It is always our pleasure, honor, and privilege to serve our living God through the talents with which he has blessed us.
